Place des Vosges, Paris, France. The oldest square in Paris, the Place des Vosges was built by order of Henry IV of France between 1605 and 1612. It was originally known as the Place Royale. Distinguished residents of the square have included Cardinal Richelieu, the Duc de Sully and Victor Hugo.
