Ancient Roman theatre, Curium, Limassol, Cyprus. Cyprus became a Roman province in 58 BC and became part of the Byzantine Empire in 395. The theatre of the ancient city of Curium (Kourion) was originally built by the Greeks in the late 2nd century BC and was then rebuilt by the Romans in the 2nd or 3rd century.
