'Wallace Executed', 1305, (c1850). After his trial, Scottish patriot William Wallace (1270-1305) was stripped naked and dragged through the City of London at the heels of a horse. Near Smithfield Market he was hanged, drawn and quartered, (strangled by hanging but released near death, emasculated, eviscerated and his bowels burnt before him, beheaded, then cut into four parts.
