Letter from John Pym to Sir Thomas Barrington, 2nd August 1643. Letter written from Westminster four months before his death by Pym to Barrington, Member of the Parliamentary Commitee of Essex, on the loss of Bristol (surrendered to Prince Rupert 26th July) on the condition of the army of the Earl of Essex, the taking of Burghley House by Cromwell, the skirmish at Gainsborough and the efforts being made to secure Gloucester and the West.
