Letter written from the Foreign Office by Henry John Temple, Viscount Palmerston as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, to RB Hoppner, British representative at Lisbon. The letter discusses the course to be followed by British subjects in the case of an outbreak of hostilities on the landing of (King) Dom Pedro, and enclosing a copy of a dispatch from Henry Addington, Minister of Madrid.
