Letter from Henry Fielding to Hutton Perkins, 25th November 1750. Letter, written from Bow Street in Fielding's capacity of police-magistrate, between the dates of the publication of Tom Jones (1749) and Amelia (1751) to Hutton Perkins, a lawyer, on the subject of an anonymous communication to the Earl of Hardwicke, Lord Chancellor, warning him that a plot had been formed against his life by three keepers of gaming houses which had lately been closed, as they thought, by his orders.
