Francis Lederer, Czech born actor, 1934-1935. Born Frantisek Lederer to a Jewish family, he moved to America and opted to stay there after the Nazis came to power in Germany. His best known films are the silent Pandora's Box (1929) and the propaganda picture Confessions of a Nazi Spy (1939). He went on to found the American National Academy of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. Taken from Meet the Film Stars, by Seton Margrave. (London, 1934-1935).
