Clark Gable, American actor, 1934-1935. Known as the King of Hollywood Gable was the biggest box office star of the early sound film era. He won a Best Actor Oscar for his performance in It Happened One Night (1934) but it is his portrayal of Rhett Butler in the epic Gone With the Wind (1939) that he is best remembered for.
