Lewis Stone, American actor, 1934-1935. Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1929 for his performance in The Patriot, Stone went on to star alongside many of Hollywood's biggest names of the 1930s. He is probably best known for playing Judge Hardy in 15 of the series of Andy Hardy films starring Mickey Rooney made between 1937 and 1947. Taken from Meet the Film Stars, by Seton Margrave.
