Captain Bedford Clapperton Trevelyan Pim, British naval officer, 1883. Pim's naval career saw him involved in Arctic exploration as well as active service in the Crimean War and in China. He was later involved in the construction of the interoceanic railway in Nicaragua. After retiring from the Navy Pim studied law and was called to the bar and also became a Conservative Member of Parliament.
