George Dunlop Leslie, artist and Royal Academician, 1882. The son of the painter Charles Robert Leslie, George Dunlop Leslie (1836-1921) became a Royal Academician in 1876. In his work he specialised in paintings of girls busy with domestic tasks or at play, with an optimistic air heightened by his use of bright colours.
