William Thomson, Archbishop of York, 1878. Before he graduated from the Queen's College, Oxford, he had practically completed a treatise called, Outlines of the Laws of Thought, published in 1842. Soon after the publication of his treatise he was ordained deacon and left Oxford to devote himself to clerical work.
