The Reverend Henry Parry Liddon, Canon of St Paul's Cathedral, London, 1881. Liddon (1829-1890) was appointed Canon of St Paul's in 1870. He enjoyed a reputation as a magnificent orator; his afternoon sermons in the Cathedral had to be moved from the choir to beneath the dome, as they attracted audiences of up to 4000 listeners.
