'The Liberator of France', 1914-1918. The headquarters of General Joffre on the night of the 6th September 1914. Joffre commanded the French Army at the First Battle of the Marne. The battle, fought between 5 and 12 September 1914, halted the German advance and saved Paris. This print is the seventh of a collection which appeared for the duration of the war.
