Gonzalo Quiepo de Llano, Nationalist general in the Spanish Civil War. Quiepo de Llano (1875-1951) was one of the senior army officers whose rebellion agains the Republican government in 1936 led to the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. He was active in Andalusia during the conflict. After his army captured Malaga in February 1937 some 4000 Republican supporters were executed. After the war General Franco appointed Quiepo de Llano head of the Spanish Mission to Italy.
