Nefertari and Isis, Ancient Egyptian wall painting from a Theban tomb, 13th century BC. Nefertari (1292-1225 BC) was the favourite queen of Ramses II. Her tomb was probably the most impressive in the Valley of the Queens at Thebes. The goddess Isis was the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus and was worshipped as the archetypal wife and mother.
