Alexander Karadordevic, Regent of Serbia, World War I, 1915. Alexander ruled Serbia as regent for his father, King Peter I, due to the latter's ill health. He led the Serbian army as it retreated before the advancing Germans in 1915. After the war he became king of Yugoslavia in 1921, ruling until his death in 1934.
