The Delhi Durbar, 1903. The Delhi Durbar, meaning, Court of Delhi, was a mass assembly at Delhi, India to commemorate the coronation of a King and Queen of England which took place three times between 1877 to 1911 at the height of the British Empire. In 1903 it was held to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra as Emperor and Empress of India. An illustration from Le Petit Journal, 18th January 1903.
