Armed invasion of Tibet by British and Indian forces, 1904. The British invaded Tibet and occupied Lhasa after a series of disputes over the border between Sikkim and Tibet. The British were concerned that the Russians were trying to bring Tibet within their sphere of influence. An illustration from Le Petit Journal, 14th February 1904.
