'Attack on Quebec by General Montgomery, Morning of 31st December, 1755', (1877). Irish soldier Richard Montgomery was killed while attempting to capture Quebec during a fierce snow storm on 31 December 1775. He had started his military career fighting for the British but later changed sides.
