'Mount Vesuvius, as represented at the Surrey Zoological Gardens', Southwark, London, 1837. The Gardens were opened in 1832 and comprised 15 acres, with a lake of 3 acres. There was a good collection of animals and birds, with scenic attractions. The Gardens extended as far as Manor Place.
