'Ahithophel in the dumps', 1830. The Duke of Wellington on a donkey with a saddle resembling a mayoral gown approaching a gallows. The donkey and gown relate to Sir John Key, Lord Mayor od London, who cancelled the Lord Mayor's Show in 1830, fearing riots against Wellington's unpopular government, which fell when Wellington lost a vote of no confidence in Parliament on 15th November.
