Green and aubergine imperial dragon saucer, Kangxi period, Qing dynasty, China, 1662-1722. A fragment of a green and aubergine imperial dragon saucer on imperial yellow ground. The front is decorated with one green and one aubergine imperial five-clawed dragon in contra-position chasing one flaming pearl. The reverse has three, out of an original four, bunches of grape and vine leaves groups pendulent from the rim. The interior and exterior rims and foot have aubergine circles. The base has a six character kaishu script mark of Kangxi and is late in the period.
