The Royal Hospital, Chelsea, London, 19th century. Founded by King Charles II and intended for the succour and relief of veterans broken by age and war, the Royal Hospital was designed by Sir Christopher Wren. Completed in 1692, the Grade 1 listed buildings still serve their original purpose in the 21st century.
