Bible scenes, late 13th century. The parable of the labourers in the vineyard, the mirace of the ten lepers, the episode of Zachaeus, and the mission of the two disciples to fetch the ass and her colt. These scenes are interpreted below as referring to the Last Judgement, the healing power of confession, the duty of leaving the world and turning to religion, and the contrast between the Jew and the Gentile. From the Bible Moralisee, produced in France in the late 13th century. Illustration from Illuminated Manuscripts in the British Museum, Miniatures, Borders, and Initials by George F Warner, series III, (British Museum, London, 1899).
