The Tower of London with London Bridge, c1500, (c1901). Charles, Duke of Orleans can be seen writing inside the Tower of London, and also at a window and in the courtyard, sending a letter. Charles was the last and arguably greatest of the French courtly poets, who also gained a reputation for his poems in English written during 25 years exile in England after his capture at Agincourt in 1415.
