The martyrdom of Simon of Trent, 1493 (1849). Simon of Trent was a boy from the city of Trento, Italy, whose disappearance (and assumed death) in 1475 was blamed on the leaders of the city's Jewish community. A 19th century version of an original 15th century manuscript illustration in Liber Chronicarum (the Nuremburg Chrronicle), by Hartmann Schedel, held at the Cabinet des Estampes, Bibliotheque Royale, Brussels, Belgium. From Le Moyen Age et la Renaissance, by Paul Lacroix, Ferdinand Séré and A Rivaud, Volume I (Paris, 1849).
