Council with White Man's Horse, 1856. Isaac Stevens, head of the United States Pacific Railroad Survey, meets with White Man's Horse, chief of the party of Blackfeet Indians, near the Big Muddy River in North Dakota. White Man's Horse has just returned from Flathead country and describes the route ahead to Stevens and his men.
