Temple Bar, Theobalds Park, near Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, 1926-1927. Originally one of the gates into the City of London, it was rebuilt after the great fire by Sir Christopher Wren in 1672. In the late 19th century it was dismantled and moved to Theobalds Park, belonging to Sir Henry Meux. Over a hundred years later it was moved back to London again and re-erected as an entrance to the Paternoster Square redevelopment near St Paul's Cathedral. It opened to the public in 2004. Illustration from Wonderful London, volume I, edited by Arthur St John Adcock, published by Amalgamated Press (London, 1926-1927).
