Saint Catherine of Alexandria, 15th century (1849). Catherine is a Christian saint and martyr claimed to have been a noted scholar in the early 4th century. She was one of the saints to speak to Joan of Arc. A 19th century chromolithograph based on an original 15th century painting held by M Quedeville, Paris. From Le Moyen Age et la Renaissance, by Paul Lacroix, Ferdinand Séré and A Rivaud, volume V (Paris, 1849).
