'The Rival Candidates', 1784. The three candidates for the Westminster constituency at the 1784 general election. Charles James Fox in the centre, in the pose of orator, is inscribed Demosthenes; Lord Hood on the left is inscribed Themistocles; and Sir Cecil Wray on the right, with a sly expression, is called Judas Iscariot. A satire on Wray for his desertion of Fox. In a close contest, Hood and Fox won the two available seats with Wray losing out in third place.
