Street market in Electric Avenue, Brixton, London, 1962-1964. People shopping at twilight, seen from under one of the ornate ironwork canopies and looking towards the railway bridges crossing Atlantic Road. Electric Avenue was the first shopping area in London to be lit with electric light. It also gave its name to a song by Eddy Grant.
