Shigeru Yoshida arrives at the San Francisco Peace Treaty, USA, April 1952. Yoshida was Prime Minister of Japan at the time. The Treaty, between Japan and the Allied powers, formally ended World War II, ended Japan's imperial status and allocated compensation to Allied victims of Japanese war crimes.
