'The entire length of the gigantic Temple of Karnak, Thebes, Egypt', 1905. 'The modest chapel of Amon, built here by the kings of the twelfth dynasty, stood out in that vacant space behind yonder native standing on the fallen block. It was erected about 2000BC, and enlarged both in front and rear by the great conquerors of the eighteenth dynasty, beginning about 1580BC.' Stereoscopic card. Detail.
