Abigail Adams (1744-1818), wife of President John Adams, 18th century (1908). Abigail Adams (née Smith) was the wife of John Adams the second President of the United States and mother of John Quincy Adams, the sixth, and is regarded as the first Second Lady of the United States and the second First Lady of the United States though the terms were not coined until after her death.
