The 'Hindenburg', moments after catching fire, Lakehurst, New Jersey, 6 May 1937. The German passenger airship 'Hindenburg' was destroyed when it caught fire while mooring. 13 passengers and 22 members of the crew were killed in the accident as well as one person on the ground. The disaster ended the era of airship travel.
