Bisham Abbey, Berkshire, from the north-east, 1924-1926. Founded in the 13th century as a Preceptory of the Knights Templar, Bisham Abbey was later a Benedictine abbey. The appearance of the house owes much to Sir Philip Hoby (died 1558) who gained the estate after the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Today it is the site of a National Sports Centre. A print from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, volume I, 1924-1926.
