Callendar House, Falkirk, Scotland, 1924-1926. Callendar House as it appears today dates from the late 18th century. The estate, previously the home of the Earls of Callendar, was acquired in 1783 by a wealthy Aberdeen coppersmith named William Forbes, who set about transforming the house into a building of the style of a French chateau. A photo from Hutchinson's Britain Beautiful, edited by Walter Hutchinson, Volume 4, 1924-1926.
