The loggia, Cranborne Manor House, Dorset, 1924-1926. The manor house at Cranborne was originally built in the early 13th century as a hunting lodge for King John. It was acquired in 1605 by Robert Cecil, 1st Earl of Salisbury, who began its transformation into a manor house combining Renaissance features with the existing medieval walls.
