Kitchener (left) succeeded Field Marshal Lord Roberts as commander of the British forces in South Africa in November 1900. As the Boers continued their guerrilla campaign, Kitchener responded by employing scorched earth tactics and forced civilians into concentration camps. Stereoscopic card.
