Summer residence of UN General Secretary Dag Hammarskjöld, Backåkra, Sweden. Hammarskjöld (1905-1961) was General Secretary of the United Nations from 1953 until his death in a plane crash in 1961. The house in Backåkra, a small fishing village in Ystad, southern Sweden, in which Hammarskjöld spent his summers, has been turned into a museum devoted to his tenure as General Secretary.
