Mary Astor (1906-1987), American actress, 20th century. Astor began her long film career as a teenager in silent films of the early 1920s. She is probably best known for her role as Brigid O'Shaughnessy in The Maltese Falcon (1941), where she starred opposite Humphrey Bogart.
