A map of the Thames from source to sea". Beneath; "Palmer's bridge with shore basins, as seen from the summit of Tower". In 1876 a competition was held to design a new crossing over the Thames below London Bridge. This was one of the more than 50 designs submitted. In the event, Sir Horace Jones's Tower Bridge was the design chosen.
