Muqarnas (stalactite vault), Abbasid Palace, Baghdad, Iraq, 1977. Baghdad's Abbasid Palace was built between 1175 and 1230, and was probably completed during the caliphate of Al-Mustansir. Parts of the palace were restored in the 20th century.
