Sears Tower from the Chicago River, Chicago, Illinois, 1976. Postcard. A bridge and the river are visible in the foreground. Commissioned by retailing giant Sears, Roebuck and Company, the Sears Tower was completed in 1973. Designed by Bruce Graham and structural engineer Fazlur Khan it was the world's tallest building until surpassed by Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1998.
