Entrance to Union Stockyards, Chicago, Illinois, USA, 1950. Postcard showing the entrance gate and building at the Union Stockyards. The red brick pillars are topped with iron grillwork the extends across the entrance. The clock tower on the entrance building is visible on the right. Because of its status as a major rail hub between the Great Plains and the major markets on the East Coast, Chicago became the centre of the American livestock and meat industry.
