The Tribune Tower by night, Chicago, Illinois, USA, 1941. Postcard showing the Tribune Tower lit up at night. The Wrigley Building and the Medinah Athletic Club are also visible. In 1922 the Chicago Tribune newspaper held an international competition to design its new headquarters. The winning entry, chosen from 260 submitted, was a Gothic style skyscraper designed by two New York architects, John Mead Howells and Raymond Hood. The building was completed in 1925.
