Yorkshire Bank refurbishment, 1972. The Yorkshire Bank after its second refurbishment in 1972. The grand designs of earlier years had made way for the clean lines of the bank's interior and these were typical of the early 1970s style in this small mining village near Barnsley. At the time, the local pits were in full production and the local economy was prospering.
