East entrance to Westminster Hall, London, 1815. Originally a Norman building, Westminster Hall was rebuilt in the 1390s. The building has hosted a range of events over the centuries, including the trial of King Charles I and the coronation banquet of King George IV. It is also used for lyings-in-state of members of the Royal Family and, on rare occasions, great public figures, prior to state funerals.
