Tinsley Viaduct under construction, Meadowhall, near Sheffield, South Yorkshire, 1967. The viaduct is one of the major structures on the M1. Its twin deck, box section structure was the first of its kind in the UK. The once mighty steelworks of Meadowhall that stood on the left of the photograph has since been replaced by the Meadowhall Shopping Centre and the controversial cooling towers of Blackburn Meadows power station (which some said were the gateway to the north of England) were demolished in 2008.
